fun haiku and facts about insects
1
gnats seek the water
of my eyes, glassy with the
joy of my garden
2
damsel fly sews her
dainty small stitches to the
creeks cool water
3
altered red ants
use ‘smellavision’ to warn
their comrades to fight
4
only the silent
mosquito bites, she draws blood;
he buzzes proudly
5
walking-stick plays dead
to avoid becoming lunch
or dinner - smart bug

      One summer for a week when our boys were younger... we housed a baby Praying Mathis - they caught it bugs and we put drops of water on our finger tips and it drank the drops. So cool.

    Aren't they marvelous -- so beautifully crafted, these bugs -- and beautifully crafted haiku too. Loving your work and all the background info!

    Another interesting fact -- my "Mizzura" (Missouri) grandmother called gnats "punkies".
