WWP 133: On the Fly...
http://wewritepoems.wordpress.com/2012/11/28/prompt-133-its-post-your-poems-day/
Listen to the sky turning raspberry red
(changing poetic sensibilities)
On the Fly...
I hear blue speak
in that awkward old lady hair shade
the one that tastes like an ice cone
filled with syrup to color the lines of your lips
as stiff and brittle as caramelized peanuts
And it says; I don’t care what you see,
to me there is a beauty to be found,
such as one found on a calm sea
with almost no wind at all -
that is how I am now, breathless
waiting for honor due and the mirror doesn't lie.
I hear clowns sigh at rainbow coiffure
the non-movable wigs, sirens of streaks
racing down the heads of rebellious youth
fire reds consuming sensibility
purple that belongs in jam sandwiches
greens that look like the guts of squashed bugs
And the boys and girls both say;
We are beautiful to each other -
Does it matter what our parents think?
Do we make you breathless as you side-step
to the other side of the street in avoidance?
I hear peace wings and waterfall strings
as my imagination flies and floats over the variegated
bark of dogwoods; White, not pure, not now,
silver of little value, natural browns once the roots...
speaking softly, whispering: We knew you when
you were your mother’s daughter and even now
as you are your own son’s mother - your voice is ours
- stranded, often plaited or bound into submission -
we have our own tail to tell, will you listen?
Hear us as you chew, as you sup the visions
that bookend your years - independence is a gift.

SW 84: (other verse): Sister Dreams
The Sunday Whirl 84 : other verse
http://sundaywhirl.wordpress.com/2012/11/25/wordle-84/
Mixed short form series: tau ku, haiku, pi ku, haiku, tau ku
Sister Dreams
if one could scent the still
sky - would
senses sway as they skimmed all that
was filling and loading
our blurring sight? exhausted we
fell, like small flecked insects
(little bits
of
crazy life drawn)
in a dizzy heap.
we danced wildly - spinning
circles in moonlight -
we held tightly to each
other
until the very end of time
(c)JP/davh
still, scent, sight, fell, flecked, sway,
loading, heap, skimmed, held, end, filling
Process notes: Do you remember mid summer evenings - when you were still small and close to the earth? Grasping hands and twirling as fast as you could, smelling the grass crush beneath your feet, trying to look at the stars, as your cotton dress held by strings at the shoulder allowed you to feel the warm night air almost everywhere... one person would slip up and the other follow, giggling, giddy, breathless - not worrying at all about grass stains while trying to focus on the moon and maybe Venus in a moment that you thought would last forever....?

Sunday Whirl 84: Story Verse: Appearances (C2)
http://sundaywhirl.wordpress.com/2012/11/25/wordle-84/
Story Verse: Chapter 2 continuance
C2 Appearances
Johannah dismounted Booker, and she stood very still
as she watched her roan stallion scent the air and use his tail
in a gentle sway to fleck away what might have been an insect
that skimmed his gleaming haunches.
The appearance of the castle was not an unexpected sight-
And held the warriors gaze as she neared the lowered drawbridge
While the almost transparent crystalline structure appeared fragile
she could only assume it would carry her and her minor load.
What was still unclear was how her image fell in a heap
right before her eyes...still in partial confusion if the end
would justify the means in this quest - she would have to
allow whatever being was in control here to fill her in on the details.
Booker hadn’t a moment of hesitation and without looking down
started to cross to the open archway on the other side - there was a
figure there, but it was difficult to make out features. So behind her steed,
Jo followed welcoming once again; horsesense in this adventure.
Neaveh did not want to appear frightening so she took the form
of a woman, older than Johannah, but but not by much - the deity wanted
to be familiar yet wise, similar, yet different as well. In Johannah’s mind
the face of a dark skinned yet friendly face emerged - Thusly She would be...

WWP 132: The Perfect Opal...
WWP 132 three perfect sentences
http://wewritepoems.wordpress.com/2012/11/21/prompt-132-its-post-your-poems-day/
The Perfect Opal is Filled with Imperfections
Amid the fogged sea a ghost ship sallies forth,
that’s what muddled inbound thoughts be.
Yet in the middle of the hurricane the blind eye
sees everything, and ego nothing.
There isn’t even perfection in dreaming,
how can there be such in conscious streaming?

SW 83: (other) Formality
Sunday Whirl 83 (other...not story verse)
silent, sorry, belong, beauty, faces, bust
wrong, find, life, pawn, pride, fire, unless
http://sundaywhirl.wordpress.com/2012/11/18/wordle-83-a-bakers-dozen/
Formality
(pi ku, tau ku, renga, reverse tau ku, reverse pi ku)
stone bust there
pride?
silent beauty
faces belong in life
unless
carved in sorry likeness...
who was the one to
pawn fire from the gods - you?
we can’t all be wrong
wanting to be warm, and yet
we fawn over kings and queens
in the museum
we find our connections to
those marble faces...
the living soul trumps stoic form
unless
perhaps they were saintly
silent beauty
blind?
captivates

SW 83: C2 add: Assessments
http://sundaywhirl.wordpress.com/2012/11/18/wordle-83-a-bakers-dozen/
Story Verse:
C2 Assessments
The silent air was shifting. The beauty almost unbearable.
And still there were no other faces - surely this quest
was not a bust, even if Johannah knew she was only a pawn.
But Booker her roan - faithful horse had no false pride...
If her companionable beast sensed no wrong and
Would walk through fire for justice...then Jo would too.
Unless it was her own doubts about life that seemed to
make this journey longer - then indeed she was sorry.
Those doubtful thoughts of being unsuccessful did not belong -
not here - not in this obvious place of power.
Johannah had to find a way to break through those last
reservations and try to understand that she has little or no control.
And as soon as those thoughts took wing, flew fast away down
a cool mountain breeze, the castle appeared - first somewhat
distant, yet with every step the miles seemed to melt away.
They were getting closer to meeting who was in control.
At least that is what Johannah thought as the morning sun shone
from behind her and the building seemed to shimmer as if
trying to decided if it were a mirage or real - gold, silver or stone,
or perhaps all of those things or none of them - soon she would know...

We Write Poems 131: Excuses?
For WWP 131 Write about love without using the word. Any experience.
Following on the theme of ‘unusual’.
http://wewritepoems.wordpress.com/2012/11/14/prompt-131-its-post-your-poems-day/
Excuses?
set up
trapped
just because my own time line
I wasn’t the same cut of cloth as sis,
nothing wrong with playing the field
testing the waters
if that’s what you want to do -
but I was...
set up
trapped
in a blind date by my own father
laced up in roller skates, wanting to run
it was so very wrong for me
but I went anyway, knowing it was
not the arrow from Cupids bow -
but I was...
set up
trapped
if only for a limited, wasted time
it was wrong in my minds’ eye
I could see that right from the start
there would be no
seconds after this first....

Sunday Whirl 82: Across the Pond (not story verse)
http://sundaywhirl.wordpress.com/2012/11/11/wordle-82/
Across the Pond
On the page their words are always leaping for joy
They tells the tales of every man those who love all things natural -
They carefully steps where perhaps a friendly phantom may have been -
Through the wood, or rocky hollow, always something new
Never to miss the unique birds songs by the giggling brook
Or the roaring wave of sea spray
They spy the dry lace moss of fallen stone walls...
Etching invitations to the fairies seasonal balls -
Although I am so very far, their vision brings me nearer...
To the beauty of the lands that lends paths to their feet.
Perhaps They will allow me one day to walk with them -
Even if only in my dreams

Wordle 82: phantom, brook, rocky, hollow, leaping, dry,
although, new, walls, never, birds, wood
Sunday Whirl 82: Another Waiting Game (story verse)
http://sundaywhirl.wordpress.com/2012/11/11/wordle-82/
Addition to Chapter 1:
Another Waiting Game
Jimmy enjoyed the kitchens and being with Cookie
and Morganna - for a princess she was, well normal.
Smart, caring, never cross always sharing new ideas
about how to improve everyones lot.
Morganna understood how it was quite impossible now
for him to ever to return to the Wizards tower, those circular walls -
the phantom presence of that evil being might return and he just
didn’t ever want that villain to hollow out his soul ever again.
Although Jimmy would have loved to see the birds,
The magical words fill the sky, reflect in the brook -
he was content to use his free time leaping upon the dry
rocky outcroppings of the sea near the palace woods.
Jimmy had had visions, perhaps dreams he wasn’t sure
of how to tell the difference - of a knight of sorts riding a fine steed.
Heading towards him out of a strange aura - a glowing mist
from the base of what some called a Sacred Mountain.
So far though he hadn’t told anyone...well because he just knew
it wasn’t time yet. The rider would need his help - though he
just wasn’t quite sure what a boy could do - though he had
released the good magic from that beautiful book in the tower...

Process Notes: I actually wrote another poem first with this Wordle list. But I found a home for the list in this continuing piece - the 31st. Until the story is finished and as long as I enjoy writing them...
This is where you will find the whole ‘She Bang’:
