CD : 515 Bunson 3

chikamichi ya mizu fumi wataru satsukiame

on the shortcut path,
stepping through water to cross the meadow
in the summer rains.

© Buson (Tr. Chèvrefeuille)

along our life's path
straight through the meadow of love -
a field of flowers

© Chèvrefeuille

as the crow flies
different than the buck walks
when water divides land

~~~~~
This is a longer (yet short) story of the young buck
      Often the saying for distance is; 'As the crow flies', but you when you have to use the actual road the distance can be two or three times as long to get to where you want to go.
