A different type of ghost - a hidden personality?
Or perhaps a personal myth?
a haibun:
She was not a shrew...
A voracious tiger lurked just under her skin.
A healthy beast always longing for that secret sent -
Haunches at the ready to leap with grace onto any boulder.
There was no drug to ease the pain that epitomized life.
Often mesmerized by the swaying habitat,
her distracted thoughts drifted on breezes.
There was no one but herself to do her bidding,
in the stunned space of time that refused to be still.
The admiration that was craved was long buried
in lost tomes -the letters she wrote and the ones
written but never sent. All that was left to do in the
remainder of her days, after the ink dried, and she
cried and cried, being cheated of what wasn’t -
was to take a bath in the river of her own tears -
and then move on and prowl the jungle for hope.
individual;
pressed, addressed, she wore her stripes
only as she could
