Just Karma 124 (N1) for July 2016 b

Just Karma 124
Native Wisdom 1

Dependent Descendants
...Just perhaps now after all these years,
that we have been so very far apart -
Even though now the line is both thin and taut,
perhaps ready to sever completely -
There might also be a single strong thread of hope..

dusk reaches across
with gentle fingers; where is
the calmness sought, found?

patience; a virtue
( haibun)

Today’s gift from Old Mother Willow; several butterflies,
damselfly and assorted bugs. The bonu;s a pair of
playful otter swimming across the creek and climbing
up the homemade wooden fence as seen through
a pair of binoculars - from where I sat barely breathing.

you can do almost anything.

giving thanks
(haibun)

Only a few steps to the window - in the
darkened house between deepest dusk
and some other wee hour. It is the height
of their season I think, I watch them blinking
on and off, from the ground to the very top
of the trees in this summer only about a
week old. 'Bugs are brilliantly splendid.

The heron
( haibun)

Just a short journey; to the edge of the yard.
Folding chair, binoculars and camera too.
Angle the chair just so to see the north/south
flow of about two hundred paces of the creek.
To listen to the bird chatter and bug wing hum
In the protective shadow of old Mother willow.

silently gliding
in gracefully; the heron
settles on a rock

recess?
(Collom Lune series & haiku)

there arrives moments
when the light in one’s

we can do,
be anything or just chill
without any explanations

our obligations fulfilled
we can jump, dance or
read a book
