Documented?
Behind the privacy of your own door you expect, well, respect.
But neighbors and co-workers won’t give you a days rest.
They complain about your parties and your pets
And where you live because they just don’t know your own regrets.
Does it matter where you keep your litter box?
If your family jewels are hidden in your socks?
Thank goodness honest folks won’t pick your locks,
Or stumble onto those assets that list your private stocks.
Let them all wonder why neither of your cars will fit in the garage -
Or that you might be involved in the nation’s espionage.
Let those who gossip fall and fail into their own sabotage -
Foreign soil is nice to visit... differences, to one senses can be a barrage...
The blinking lights and wild nights, the show stopping extravagant menu
Are not the same as fields of grapes and a vineyards venue.
We are all characters in the global play, yes it is true, me and you.
While we will eventually fade...once exposed old written words will seem new...
The stuff we’ve taken great efforts modify, nullify, hinder or tame,
once revealed into the light, might just bring us unexpected shame
But as that old saying goes there will be no-one left to blame
If it is only after death that we achieve elusive fame...

You mean we're not famous now...?
ReplyDeleteI really like that
ReplyDeleteLove the strong rhyme. "We are all characters in the global play" is a great line and concept.
ReplyDeleteJules, this just cracks me up "Does it matter where you keep your litter box? If your family jewels are hidden in your socks?" Priceless!
ReplyDeleteGreat flow to this tale of truth, Jules.
ReplyDeletePamela
After we're gone, what does it matter one way of another. Love your ramble, it's sound and whimsical sense of reality, it's a lot like taking a long look at a side glance. If that makes sense,
