Following Directions?
Ma went to the edge...
as she often does
literally and
figuratively
It is always a fine balance...
on that makeshift bridge
onto the fallen log
to clear the
debris and detritus
Living day to day with nature...
recovering
from the flood
and wondering
how sound travels
And the neighbors...
the one that lives alone,
but has family visit
on weekends that play
the radio, TV or voice
their opinion that meander
all the way to the end of the yard
disturbing Sunday morning peace
going where the
words flow best that’s
what she thinks that’s what
she’ll guess dancing in the mid
-dle of decisions not yet made,
left, right and center in the cir-
cle from from the beginning
to the end and round
and round again

love the flow of this piece - the internal thoughts and then the circular end verse!
