CD 409 Enco-ji Temple 39

grateful acceptance
sisters attempt charity
on the pilgrim trail

kaeru listens to hens chirp
their words like feathers flutter

on the pilgrim trail
brothers accept alms, and bow
one more bowl of rice

  1. I can't imagine what it is like for those (Buddhist) monks to be completely dependent on the goodness of others for their food. Pretty brave!
