WWP 147: Fading Light?

‘I always love poems that are echoes. And in a deepest sense, if you are able to distill some truth, some epiphany, from a poem, then it must have touched some core within you.’

An Elfje Echo Pair:
Fading light?

Advancing
Geriatric labels
Identify decades, years
Negotiating sanity with memories -
Going...?

I
didn’t think
I’d have something
an epiphany - an echo
me?

Notes: Seeing our elders age, that's when we finally age. Our hearts can be forever young...
But sometimes looking in the mirror...just makes you want to turn away...and cry. Especially when you see the strength of those you admire and love fade.

  1. Forgive me, I am old, and it's the sight of wrinkles and grey hair on our offspring that finally convinces me of that fact!
