Dark Chocolate (#4 warm up)

What’s your guilty pleasure?

Dark Chocolate

Dawn, he’s up and almost out the door
All alone with the newspaper - stretching,
Reaching...up to look out the picture window...
Kink in my neck, bunny slippers on my feet...

Chair welcomes me with waiting arms, fingers
Hover over the keyboard...it is my time...
Overview of my e-mail...mental checklist and
Chocolate...the bar retrieved from my hidden stash
Opened ...waiting for a break of  fingers-tip-tapping
Luscious caramel in this one...soon every bit,
All gone. Should I get that second one? I am
Trying to be healthier...so I reach for an apple.
Eventually my horde will run dry, but I’ll restock.
