CD 411 Ryuko-ji, Temple 41

pilgrims soft slippered
feet shuffle on stone stepway
they barely echo

kaeru peeks out of a hole
red gateway in the distance

they barely echo
yesterday’s accomplishments
in the universe

Note:
kaeru = frog, return in Japanese
Also is a lucky symbol and related to travelers
kaeru is my companion guide on this journey

We are both ...female :)

  3. A frog lives under the paving by my front door. It comes out in the early evenings. At the point of greeting it when I see it.

  5. Very well done Jules ... I like these a lot, but as Bjorn already says that last haiku is really a gem.
