Thanks for your kind words. I do review all comments before posting - so if your comment disappears on you, don't fret. I will post honorable comments as soon as I am able.
I do not post or return visits to "Anonymous Comments." Adding your link to an unrelated site will not help. Most everything that ends up in spam will not be posted, especially that which makes no sense to the post.
Any 'opinions' that are not introduced, explained and are unrelated to my post will not be honored. Having a 'legitimate' blog will not help - you will be marked as spam. You will have no voice here. Thank you.

This is quite lovely. My favourite part is the last 4 lines.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure what you mean here: "It didn’t matter if it what the season"
Thanks Viv, I think it was a case of fingers tripping over thought. I've changed the line to make sense. Thanks for your eagle eye!
Delete"Popeye cartoons while grandmother ironed -
ReplyDeleteAnd she ironed everything, including sox."
Love that scene! It also reminded me of my grandmother, who used to make my mother iron even the sheets and pillowcases while she was growing up!
I agree with ViV. The last four lines capture the theme.
ReplyDeletethis is really poignant
ReplyDeleteI really liked "that’s what wearing coats was for." !
