SERENdipITY : an acrosTic: Miz Q April 13

Write a poem dealing with or about ‘Luck’

an ‘acrosTic’:

SERENdipITY

Lost
Unclear
Calculated?
Kerfuffle...

Look
Under and over
Common ladders -
Kaleidoscopic fears

Loonies?
Undeterred, referring to
Charts and stars for navigation -
Kernels of truth?

Living
Undisturbed with
Confidence - allowing
Kites to reach towering heights

Laugh with not at, while
Understanding there are those who need
Certain inexplicable things - like explaining the
Kinetic emotions regarding the number thirteen...

Shipping - Miz Q #12

Week Two PROMPT TWELVE:PLAY Choose one of the poems you’ve written this month and play with it. *Google Translate it through two or three languages *Or you may want to build a new poem from the new parts. From my April first piece Expedition and then to something new...

The first verse is the English translation from the German, which was translated from Italian.
The Second ‘Shipping’ is the new piece.

Shipping

pay no mind
Fashion, develop forging
own Trope ... fluctuating

Lips have a song bag
scattered dust bag

in the attic of his
Spirit held as a portfolio in place
Time, as the pot of gold

Shipping

On the ship foghorns blew
Uniformed sailors; crew
Sang ditties to scatter ghosts

On his lips
his bagpipe bellowed, scattering gulls -
Roosting birds flew

Would they make safe landfall?
Captured Leprechaun's treasure -
Stowed below, would fate ensue

ensue: 2. to follow as a consequence.
Instead of a renga I alternated Kelly and Collom Lune forms, which use word count not syllables.

haiku inspired by and for; Ms. Becky

haiku inspired by and for; Ms. Becky

water quenches thirst
while color disappears
waiting for the sun  ******* lingering reflections
**************************** through the souls lens - refreshment
**************************** a reward - rejoice

no time on the face
caricatures embrace us
id side and out - in ~~~~~~~  guaranteed, no sting
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ easing symptoms and your stress
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ color can return

illumination
comes from within - arid souls
need words that can feed ....... yawning awnings, green
................................................. shades for a grey day are seen
................................................. doors await entry

rapidly hours
pass - spilling memories - sea,
she receives us all ~~~~~~~~~ floral fragrance float
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ slowly seep to flavor me,
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ lost in curlicues

patchwork of sparkles
if the sky were clear - this night
the stars would shine bright *******  blueberry hill, I
************************************** climb my way out of shadows
************************************** ‘orange’ you happy

words feed ones eyes - read
the feast before you laid - see
The signs leading -  home

Documented; Miz Q 11

Documented?

Behind the privacy of your own door you expect, well, respect.
But neighbors and co-workers won’t give you a days rest.

They complain about your parties and your pets
And where you live because they just don’t know your own regrets.

Does it matter where you keep your litter box?
If your family jewels are hidden in your socks?

Thank goodness honest folks won’t pick your locks,
Or stumble onto those assets that list your private stocks.

Let them all wonder why neither of your cars will fit in the garage -
Or that you might be involved in the nation’s espionage.

Let those who gossip fall and fail into their own sabotage -
Foreign soil is nice to visit... differences, to one senses can be a barrage...

The blinking lights and wild nights, the show stopping extravagant menu
Are not the same as fields of grapes and a vineyards venue.

We are all characters in the global play, yes it is true, me and you.
While we will eventually fade...once exposed old written words will seem new...

The stuff we’ve taken great efforts modify, nullify, hinder or tame,
once revealed into the light, might just bring us unexpected shame

But as that old saying goes there will be no-one left to blame
If it is only after death that we achieve elusive fame...

A Spring Avalanche of Sound; Miz Q 10, WWP 150

Party with Paul Gauguin

With thanks to the instructions of a nonet (which I expanded into a double reverse nonet as I had more to say...while playing ‘stuff the prompt for MizQ and WWP 150’) to:

A Spring Avalanche of Sound

Sitting on my stone bench I am at
a natural party; birdsong
staccato trilling, birdie,
peter-peter, squeak-meek
twea-tea-tee, cheep-cheep
hear-heeer-here!, quack,
chew-coo-coo,
voices
tweet
*
splash
water
playful creek
mini rapids run
breeze flips my pages
distant train whistle sighs
along with motors of cars
and planes - those engines attempt to
distract me...but not for very long

While this is also posted 'elsewhere' I did mention I'd post it 'here' as well.

Miz Q 9: Green & White

Week Two PROMPT NINE:COLOR, NOW

Look around you. Write down the first color you notice, and the second. That is the title of your poem. Write about yourself as a child, and use those two colors as a point of reference.
Green & White
Didn’t know
back then
that one
could be
so naive....

as to think
trust was given,
always and all ways.

That’s what pure innocence is;
believing in those who are your elders.
Or first loves. Not the playmates that elude you.
Or the siblings that excluded you or even the cousins that were rude to you

But the parents; the ones who trusted their own parents and then got sick.
And died. The remaining one remarried to the wicked stepmother
or the younger chippy after divorces
forces moves to more unfamiliar

places that repeatedly take
and takeaway confidence
until thinking blinks

brightly on
and now
that one
you are
is stable.

Miz Q 8: A Successful Revolt

Miz Q 8 abecedarian acrostic

abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz - A Successful Revolt
all bow cautiously down
biting calloused damp edamame -
can disciples escape? floundering
destitute, emotional foraging, grasping
every formally garnered hypocrisy.
fear grabs hold - introduction
grants higher ideals judiciously -
hell inscriped jinxes knock
incessantly jabbing knowledge, life.
jurors kick lackadaisically, mangaling
kindness, laws morose, nonexistent.
litany mangled natures oppressiveness.
menacing newer opposition persists,
nice overwrought people quake,
overall peace, quest, reawakens
persists, quietly  rising serendipitously,
quelling ridiculous sanctimonious trivia
relentlessly, surpasses treachery untied.
subsequently traitorous underlings vanish.
trembling unimpressive vandals waffle...
umbilical veins wan, xenophobic
vulgarity walks, xyst-like yielding -
wards xanthic...yelps, zigzags.
xenial youthful zealots applaud
yelling, zipping abandoned barricaded
zones, apply bandages caringly

© JP/davh
Edamame: is a preparation of baby soybeans in the pod... The pods are boiled in water together with condiments such as salt, and served whole. ...the dish is most often found in Japanese ...and some Chinese restaurants, but has also found popularity elsewhere as a healthy food item. xanthic: yellow or yellowish in color xenophobic: unreasonably fearful of or hating anyone or anything foreign or strange. xenial: the rights of a guest, hospitality... pertaining to hospitable customs. xyst: to scrape

While not exactly sure what the prompt was requesting, I took the abecedarian acrostic literally.
And I got out my Webster’s for help. Might have stretched a few meanings...and it isn’t exactly a smooth read. But it will have to do. I also added the challenge to use four word sentences in repeated alphabetical order...dang that was a work out!
