BrunuhVille's "Riversong"

dry river bed waits
for the sparse rains, natural
springs whisper softly

c JP/davh

Note:
In my travels today, we saw
the wide empty rivers... just
waiting to direct torrents -
if and when they ever arrive

in this arid area.

Please note:
I could not get WP to keep the format
so I posted 'here'.
Evidently 'B' wouldn't keep the format either so
I had to add the '...' to separate the verses
Apologies to those who have WP
I may post over there too
Just my piece will follow Cheyrl-Lynn's

CD : revise that haiku 6

yube ni mo asa ni mo tsukazu uri no hana

it belongs
neither to morning nor to evening
the flower of the melon

© Matsuo Basho (translation by R.H.Blyth)

in her realm
the flowers of the melon blooming
at noon

© Chèvrefeuille

melon noon bloomer
abundant flowers sauteed with
butter; taste the sun

cJP/davh

Note: Perhaps it is true that some poetic minds think alike?
I, like Cheverefeuille,  also have ‘noon’ in my haiku because
I thought if the melon did not belong to the morning or evening,

what was left? :) I wonder how many of us thought this way?

CD : 491 horizon

baked mountains dotted
with greenery lay westward
my view for two weeks

perhaps I will visit there;
pioneer regional park

too far to walk to
once there though, it should be a
good place to explore

CD: HS 9 : new view

new view

above the car lot
beyond the highway, waiting
mountains take my breath
