SW 83: C2 add: Assessments

Story Verse:
C2 Assessments
The silent air was shifting. The beauty almost unbearable.
And still there were no other faces - surely this quest
was not a bust, even if Johannah knew she was only a pawn.
But Booker her roan - faithful horse had no false pride...

If her companionable beast sensed no wrong and
Would walk through fire for justice...then Jo would too.
Unless it was her own doubts about life that seemed to
make this journey longer - then indeed she was sorry.

Those doubtful thoughts of being unsuccessful did not belong -
not here - not in this obvious place of power.
Johannah had to find a way to break through those last
reservations and try to understand that she has little or no control.

And as soon as those thoughts took wing, flew fast away down
a cool mountain breeze, the castle appeared - first somewhat
distant, yet with every step the miles seemed to melt away.
They were getting closer to meeting who was in control.

At least that is what Johannah thought as the morning sun shone
from behind her and the building seemed to shimmer as if
trying to decided if it were a mirage or real - gold, silver or stone,
or perhaps all of those things or none of them - soon she would know...

Process Notes: I thought I might take a break from writing the story, but when the words fit...
(This is the 32nd piece - enjoy.)

  1. Ah.. I like that the castle just appeared but, is it real, a mirage, or what. Love the way you described her thoughts taking wing and flying down the mountain. Beautiful imagery.

  3. Intriguing... we often have to try to understand that we have little or no control.
