WG TT (summertime list): paper

paper
that blank space
between the lines
on a ruled flat formed
substance, barely two dimentional
looking for life, becomes
the bed for ink
for thoughts often unspoken
perhaps red
perhaps blue
maybe written for some green
though many would just like to be read
before the night is done
and they are off to bed
to dream of the next pen to be found
any flat surface
to jot that bolt of inspired dreaming
to tame that unruliness
of muse that through
some labyrinth has lead
the poet without keys
to pace and search
for a peaceable kingdom
between lines ruled
now filled with poetry
space, no longer ‘blank’

Process notes: Perhaps and unconventional list? I tend to stick with what I am comfortable with - enjoy. I did have fun.

So many writers, I'm sure, can identify with this portion! I love it, Jules!

  5. I like your play. You played with line breaks too -- most appropriate for lined paper. I have so loved all the different poems I have read of yours. Long may you play.

  6. Great fun to read this, and the play on words are well done, too.

  7. the way you play with words is amazing, you bring forth the old and the modern...years ago it was pen and paper now we just open the laptop and open the word doc and there we go...
    interesting and thoughtful poem.

Thanks for visiting my blog Chim's World of Literature.
