Determined Souls

Defiant critter 

Continues to 

Destroy 

Bird feeder fortress

Stopping

Gnawing teeth

With metal wire

That big ‘ol squirrel chewed through some plastic zip ties holding up some of ‘my defenses’ for the bird feeder.  I don’t think his teeth are gonna like the copper wire I added to the new zip ties. Chickadees and wrens are still getting through to get seeds. So, that’s good. I haven’t quite figured out the right ratio for the red pepper flakes - but I’m working on that too.  

The squirrels have their own feeders... But I guess the squirrels think that all the bird feeders are theirs too!

Jumping a Sinking Ship

Unsupportive sinking ship

Too many changes that make no sense

No life lines, no life preservers, 

Mostly no respect for 

Just leaving things working easily

Adding salt to my soup

With my own tears

But I’ve gotta find 

The best way for me

To go on with my show

hope to see

y’all on the flip side

of my moon

Unspoken Resolution

(Since the New Year; Better Body, Better Health)

Attempting to become stronger

Doing more steps daily

And taking more online classes

With our new health insurance program

Working with weights

Attempting to hold a ‘plank’ pose 

For half a minute on elbows and toes

Settling the mind with a guided yoga routines

Must have helped just a tad this week

Since I had my highest series of 434 

In bowling since our senior league began -

Going to bring up my 118 average 

While we only took one point out of 4

It was still a fun outing 

Even as the snow flurried 

And dulled the sky... 

slight weight gain

could be extra mass

of muscle
