Their watching faces,
as I walk the autumn road
make me a traveler.

following the sand path
circling around this mountain
I feel like an eagle

yesterday so far
I traveled, not leaving home;
busy grandchildren

walking along the beach
following the tracks of a hermit crab -
Ah! That salty air

reckless (MLM Haiku Ha: social issues)

reckless
(12.3-social issues)

all my milkweed has
gone to seed...company
for the wind

the breadth of ones sins; too wide
stoning - sympathy sidelined

until the tables turned
his blood diseased, seed dried
the end of his line

©JP/dh

Note: Prejudice is on any count is awful. The first haiku was part of a response
to a post for my friend Jen. But the seed part got me thinking about Aids. Since
National World Aids Day was December 1st. And how those who first proclaim
the disease selective and associated with evil change their tune when they by any
number of methods contract the disease and then want all the help they can get.

spinal tap CD GW 36

spinal tap             CD GW 36 haiku noir (12.2)

chalk lines flickered red
and blue along with the neon
words; empty and dark

at that hour the diner was
almost empty of gawkers

the witness shivered,
black cup of joe brought no warmth;
robbing her lipstick

she hadn't seen anything;
and local Leo’s believed her

I could read crime scenes
and faces; and she was an
open book to me

I just had to read between
the lines to get to the truth...

companionable (haiku set) CD 617

companionable (haiku set) CD 617  12.2

1
spoon, forks and knives drop
tells company will arrive
old wives tales delight

2
grand-children’s laughter
my daytime companions
yet I wait... for yours

3
lost autumn sighs fade
yet the moon still romances
warming the night sky

in such a unique way; moon
is caressed by the sun

...finite sun... (12.1 CD 616/b)

...finite sun... (12.1 CD 616)

gone not forgotten
memories shout silently
oxymoronic

each day a finite
sun reaches an apex in
someones day somewhere

oxymoronic
that we depend so much on
that which is finite
