Melt My Heart?
So keen to do my bidding
All I need to do is whisper
And they shall spring into action
One single, or the whole pack
On point to do whatever I wish
No leashes or string to hold taut
Always willing to heel -
I’ve no need to use a poison without smell
Or make an apple for a princess to taste
I need no trick to chase my quarry
I’ve the perfect pet
In livery with brass buttons that shine
Their added wings accent their supple shape
Delightful and with glee my pretty pawns
They are with tail and paw -
Monkey see; I point; Monkey do!

Worlde #50 http://sundaywhirl.wordpress.com/2012/04/01/wordle-50/
pet, string, paw, smell, wish, point, pack, trick, shine, shape, taste, whisper
Process notes: I wanted to create something outside ‘the box’, nontraditional,
but always...fun. and I am a great fan of Mr. Baum and his many Oz stories.
Enjoy!

Balance
Balance
My skirts sweep the floor, often picking up spilled oil from some misplaced gauge -
It is a tricky craft he treads in and I am careful to be supple and tender
When the need arises, when he is forced to break from his acumen
And academia - There is a need of reality to be sprinkled and joy
To be achieved without the aid of acid vials or beakers of glass
Burning unknown chemicals - for there are other juices
To be supped of in this life and I bring them to him
Squeezed from fruit in a polished silver cup,
After all
I am
The
Alchemist’s wife

For Wordle # 49 I'll post the link Tomorrow when the Wordle list is posted,
But for now the words are: acumen, sprinkled, sweep, oil, tender, acid, craft, joy, supple, alchemist, gauge and juices

Process notes: Honest the words just jumped off the page and transformed themselves. :)
*I need to add here that the shape didn't start out as a chalice... The title is Balance. I was working on making scales! But then well ... you know what happened. :)

Half Baked
I have discovered from previous visits
to retirement communities that there is a limit
to how many times I can get lost in the maze of hallways they contain
staff and residents are willing to lend a hand
some with unrecognizable gestures...(due to age, and mental capacity)
There is always some unfolding drama on those linoleum roads
those wheel chairs one drives themselves to and fro
some gents and gals intent on what they carry to make
a delivery to the community room of some old crooner singing to bring cheer -
those easy to follow tunes that everyone can enjoy singing
I have this inherent fear that one day I will need my children
to find a place like this for me, until then I’ll use up
all the sources I can find to stay within my own home
and be very glad that I am still very able to count
my own less than shiny, not quit round, rattling marbles

Toro
March 10, 2012 Toro!
The troupe was small enough - But who would have thought
That this non-traditional circus could cause such a commotion
I had not figured I’d be calling the police just for leaving my doors wide open
Now I’ve had to cordon off my store front - I really could use a drink
Really officer I think to myself I’m not from mars
Libation? Too much to drink I could see how one would think that
Sure if you were to ask anyone else they may tell a different story
But I think you’ll have to settle on my account as the most accurate
When you do a fair amount of traveling to strange places - that can take
A toll on you and you can get confused and forget to lock cage doors
Maybe that’s when all the trouble started? Not enough sleep?
Could the accident have been prevented? Maybe, but can we move on?
It is quite amazing that there wasn’t all that much damage
Most of us townies’ are more stunned that hurt
The news papers are going to have a field day with this!
Has animal control arrived yet? The beast is still in there
I just don’t have a clear handle on how it could have happened, but it did
Yes, plenty of blame to go around... can we get ‘em out before he leaves me a gift?
Frank the owner, sacrificed his parking lot across the street just for them to set up their tents
Maybe there were precautions, but the bull escaped anyway and charged into my china shop

The other side of yin
We all come from them ...women
Some of us are also lucky enough to be a woman
The grandmother who bore our father
The grandmother who bore our mother
The adopted grandmother who bore our heart-mother
From the mother we never quite knew because she died in our youth
Or the woman who is our mother still...
The step mother who was our siblings mother
The step mother who became our heart-mother
The front runners and fort home holders
Who when given the chance forged firsts
Divorces when they weren’t popular
Supporting war efforts by becoming “Rosie’s”
And even in more modern times actually wearing combat boots
We sometimes remain childless
We bare sons and daughters with our man or without them
We make her’story along side history
We have been slaves, as well as freed them
We are shy, bold, warm and cold
We are puzzles that may never be solved with the pieces we posses
We are yang - complimentary opposites
And that will have to do as we the majority of the human race
Out live and often out pace those who try and oppose and disgrace us
We are writers, poets, artists, chiefs, chefs, and any other profession you can name
Whether or not we chose to claim the fame that follows
We also make mistakes, so forgive us our faults and support us
After all we could be your Mother!

Pieces of Peace
Tues March 6, 2012 Pieces of Peace
When Peter Pan lost his shadow
And it was tucked safely in a bureau drawer
He cried until the little girl woke
She carefully sewed it back onto the edges of his feet
We are not whole, and are quite incomplete
When burying our secrets deep
What harbour would hold us if it truly knew
That the hate we oft project is the hate we feel for our self?
Even in Pan’s fantasy world the Lost Boys
Raged in battle against the mighty Captain Hook
Was he more true to himself allowing his greed
To be so fully exposed?
We are not whole, and are quite incomplete
When we deny the parts that make us whole
We oft decry hope, and then mope
Thinking there is naught a thing we can do
Yet we too like the child that wished not to grow
We can dream of a better world and make it so
Every gentle word uttered by our true hearts
Can help to heal both the land and all that lives
We are not yet whole, and are quite incomplete
As halves to any partnership, as wakefulness is to sleep
Let us work together holding hands in peace to build that better bridge
And eliminate the need for greed and with finality put an end to all war

Baby Steps
Sun March 4, 2012 Baby Steps
Mother was right, Coral thought, her white spindle-like legs
As perhaps she had with all of her daughters, she did admonish
Those who where unaware of what it would be like above the ground
Thankfully the location she chose for land fall allowed her to remain coatless
How could one bear the weight of a wooly garment along with shod feet?
Polly tried to focus on who had invaded cove, it really was hard to find
Briefly blinded by her own shadow, she almost fell backwards
By the fullness of the girl that stood before her displaying such metal
To call ‘You there...’ to a complete stranger... her own confidence ebbing
The girl seemed to bear herself like some regal princess
The sea-child could see that the human girl preferred to stay where she was
How ever was she going to get down these rocks, walking was difficult enough
But add to that climbing - when one prefers to swim even small steps were challenging
Ah, there was a way...The sprite was fleet of foot and seemed to be coming to her aide
“I’ve made a make-shift kitchen a bit further down. I’ve extra water too... Here let me help.”
Polly babbled on while leading Coral down to her shelter -
“I’ve returned here so many times I can practically find my way blind folded.
“But then it is always best to look where you place your feet...
“There you can sit on that smoothed stone,...” She did not add that it looked like a throne
“You’re not from around here are you? I’m Polly Rana - My folks run The Rana Resort
Coral was prepared for what was to come next, who she was...at least for this moment
“I’m Coral Pesce - My folks are marine biologists. So I get to travel all over with them.
“We haven’t been here before. But we’ll probably stay aboard our research vessel
“I’m not sure how long we’ll be staying - just picking up supplies …
Polly seemed satisfied. But there was that look of curiosity still lingering in her bright eyes...
