10.12 a haibun: primarily a poet

10.12 a haibun: primarily a poet

unnervingly shy, reclusive
unfathomable depths -
in that protected shell

became a vocal peacemaker
advocate for those meeker
mystery seeker of books that would tell

some truth to explain
the divisions of heaven on earth
and others dark images of hell

old soul expresses,
shares common thoughts, words and threads
weaves dreams for her friends

10.13 CD 581 hanabi: ...sky fire...

10.13 ...sky fire...

from our host...

against the dark sky
colorful flowers and suns -

10.11 CD TRC 53 ...bread and butter

10.11...bread and butter

power-driven fowl
in rays of a setting sun
flies home                                                             © Oliana

several times a month, he does
returns with bread and butter                                ©JP/dh

addendum:

smiling at me
happy for my home cooking
until the next time

©JP/dh

Note: In our modern day and age it is oft
difficult to find a job you love where you
don’t have to travel. Having any job is a
blessing when economics are gloomy.
This tan regna touched me because my
spouse has to travel for the ‘job’ and that

power-driven fowl is a big part of our lives.

10.10 CD HS 25 : youngsters

(I finally remembered to visit this Friday haiku meme!)
10.10 ...bounce...

younger we were then,
yesterday...blind to aging -
though grandchildren bounce

Note: After a long happy marriage
who remembers the struggles?
We laugh, he and I that occasionally

we can now get ‘senior’ discounts.

10.9 CD and MLM haiku

I am posting both inspired pieces in one post. Please enjoy both...

Hatsu Hana (The First Cherry Blossom)

faint fragrance
spring sighs through open windows
hatsu hana wakes

(while perhaps not so serious ... this is what I came up with)

10.9 ...birds’ seed...

10.8 CD Roots 6: ...Orion's blade...

10.8 ...Orion’s blade...

Orion’s blade cuts
chrysanthemum clouds in the
black velvet fall sky

or

chrysanthemum clouds
cut by Orion’s blade in
the black autumn sky

©JP/dh

Note Orion is still in the southeastern sky
when I get my morning paper at 6 am.
I did take some poetic licence as there
wasn’t a single cloud. But there could have been.
