roses for my love

the sound of Champaign

velvet petals rest
bushes without blush as one

Note:
I was told the story that my one grandfather
in his later years tended roses. After he died,
on the way to the funeral home all the bushes
were in full bloom - on the way back to the
cemetery (passing the house) not a single

petal was left on a single flower.

CD : 539 trees

lightning and strong winds
felled swamp maple, and cherry;
wood for winters' warmth

sad for the loss, even with
a gain - the trees give and give

CD : 537 truth

Khalil Gibran about 'truth'. In his "Sand and Foam"
"Many a doctrine is like a window pane. We see truth through it, but it divides us from truth".

he wanted to live
the words he spoke; right from wrong
he was just one man

he teased; taught us with
these words: ‘do as I say not
as I do’ - no joke

he was just one man
the words he spoke; right from wrong
he wanted to live

Quetzalcoatl was related to gods of the wind, of Venus, of the dawn,
of merchants and of arts, crafts and knowledge. Associated with the sun
a phoenix obtains new life by arising from the ashes of its predecessor.
