Ik 373 for June 2016 b

Ik 373
bear minimum
(*a renga)

what do we all have;
functioning parts, thinking brain,
imagination

all the rest; window dressing;
surfaces beneath surfaces

imagine living
in outer space, what then would
or could we possess

Inspired by: What really matters is what you do with what you have.
Karma is cause and effect. Dharma means cosmic law.
Yoga is enlightenment through movement and Tao is the
practice of acting in harmony with the fundamental essence
of everything you encounter.

Note: My haiku (or other forms) are my interpretations
or of how I might put the inspirational sentence
into practice, for me.  Also, I am going in my own order.

(*renga as I learned - two haiku of 5,7,5 with a middle segment of two lines of 7 syllables.)

Ik 372 for June 2016 b

Ik 372
creditably pure?
(*a renga)

once “keeping ‘it’ real”
a slogan; redirection
to heal damage done

a remembrance now to
a self centering era?

there is honesty
to the moderation of
wanting the whole truth

Ik 371
bask in beauty
(*a renga)

when being forced to
play another persons game;
understand the rules

set aside false shame that drags
the joy from your own living

eliminate rage
especially when your heart
wants two champions

Ik 370 for June 2016 b

Ik 370
axiom
(*a renga)

carefully sit down
express with honesty, thoughts
listen and respond

answers may close a few doors
when hurt hearts are slow to heal

skeletons, secrets
cause more distress, more messes;
use words carefully

Ik 369 for June 2016 b

Ik 369
on point
(*a renga)

the piggies used straw,
twigs and then bricks to build homes;
windows and doors too

maybe they’ll be able to
invite that wolf for some tea

starting over takes
courage and strength; and so does
having compassion

Ik 368 for June 2016 b

Ik 368
humble glow
(*a renga)

plans are just guidelines
to be read by the light of
the late spring fireflies

one can try to read by that
small green blinking light or live...

live, enjoying the
dance of the insects, as they
let prayers drift free

Just Karma 123 (f14) for June 2016 b

Just Karma 123
frog adventures 14
(a haibun)

the rains that had held off; descended
a quick hop around the block
for a breakfast at a local eatery

where a studious lad conversed
his ambitions to be educated and counseled
by the Navy - that made kaeru smile

the rest of the trip home; through some rain
was mostly uneventful - even with the car radio malfunctioning;
kaeru’s pad - standing still; the grass taller...
*
kaeru, looks in the
robin’s empty nest; the chicks
have hatched and are gone

kaeru = in Japanese means both frog and returning.
