Just Karma 9 for June 2015 b

Just Karma 9

Representing?

Daniel Boone was a
shorter red head, nothing like
the portrait painted after
his death, that hangs in
in the old Capital which
does look strangely like 'Elvis'

According to my wonderful guide; Daniel Boone’s family
related that Daniel does not look like the painting;
would have worn different clothes and would
never have worn a coonskin cap.
But especially would not have had mutton chop sideburns.

Adventure

early to Fort Hill;
serpentine trail going up
a doe waited to greet me
at the loop top there -
that alone was worth the climb;
five mile round trip, before nine

Around Town

the small town awaits
up steps, over the plaza
down steps and around corners
sleepy little thing
most doors will open at ten
some just a tad earlier

New Locale

woke late to grey sky
rain cool and refreshing falls
on these unfamiliar streets
exploration shall
have to wait, unless I buy
an umbrella from a shop

Keyed Up

silence leaves room for
observation on the road,
in the waiting area
of ticket check-in,
security cues, eating
spaces and airport lobbies

knowing of a reunion

Delight

prepared
for travel
and reunions
with those loved ones that have been far away

rejoice in knowing that you’ll get to see
their smile, kiss and
hug them close;

Karma is cause and effect. Dharma means cosmic law.
Yoga is enlightenment through movement and Tao is the
practice of acting in harmony with the fundamental essence
of everything you encounter.

Note: my haiku (or other forms) are my interpretations
or of how I might put the inspirational sentence
into practice, for me.  Also, I am going in my own order.

Tetractys – it’s another of the short poetry forms; invented by Ray Stebbing it consists of at least 5 lines of 1, 2, 3, 4, 10 syllables (total of 20).  The Tetractys can be written in more than one verse, but then must each line must be followed by an inverted syllable count (10,4,3,2,1 syllables).
American haiku: The Poetic ‘Lune’ : The form is 3/5/3 words. Jack Collom created this new form of haiku by chance...free from all constraints associated with haiku,...See more info from Wikipedia.
