haiku and Shadorma:
Sit in The Grass

to find good insects
like the lady beetle and
grasshopper, sit still

the little pollinators
have their purpose here and now
*
count her spots,
hear him play music,
watch seeds dance
in the breeze
smell the petrichor of spring
connect with the ground
*

good fortune right now.

Yoga is enlightenment through movement and Tao is the
practice of acting in harmony with the fundamental essence
of everything you encounter.

haiku and Shadorma:
Start Every Day A Little Happier

when the strangers pass
you on their morning walk, say
‘good morning’ - smile
*
that blank stare
might be because they’re
unsure of
themselves - and
they are new to your language
be kind anyway

*
another’s foot falls
take them to unknown pathways
a kind nod shares good

haiku and Shadorma:
Garden with a Child

from winter bean seeds
that you must hand pollinate -
to a grander scale
*
let them know
where their food comes from
not just a
grocery
shelf in the supermarket
but from their own hand

increase and bolster

haiku and Shadorma:
Keep Birthdays Simple

age is relative
enjoy every present day
your presence is best
*
daze of days
at eighteen gifts stop
at least for
that one side
when every day is a gift
they are all special
*
a card would be nice
phone calls are good, but sometimes
a surprise 'could do'

Of Self

too much, not enough
who really wants to know
I think perhaps; me.

depending
so much on others
we forget
the value
of how precious we can be

Relax and Be Yourself

I can only be
what I am, creating  space
for my own comfort

what? you say
I am not like you -
that is good
isn’t it?
to be different, unique
and honorable
